:: how English is your English?? ::

Hey, to people out there, who thinks their English is good, can you somehow read and understand these sentences?

These are points and sentences to ponder. Originally, my colleague, Jono (Jonathan) was the one who brought this up to me. Testing my English eh, Jono? Anyway, here they go..

1. James, while John had had "had," had had "had had"; "had had" had had a better effect on the teacher.

2. That that is, is. That that is not, is not. Is that it? It is.

3. Time flies like an arrow... Fruit flies like bananas.

4. For my sign, please put more room between the "Smith" and "and", and "and" and "Sons".

5. The man saw the boy with the binoculars.

6. They are hunting dogs.

7. Police help dog bite victim.

8. Woman without her man is incomplete.

9. What has four wheels and flies?

And here are the explanations:

1. While John had used 'had' in his writing, James had used 'had had' in his. The teacher had preferred 'had had'.

2. All that is, is, and that anything that does not exist does not.

3. Time pass us by quickly like an arrow. While fruit flies (a type of flies) like bananas.

4. It's just about someone asking you to put more spaces between each of the words in "Smith and Sons".

5. At least there are three arrangements:
i. The man saw (past tense of see) a boy by using the man's binoculars.
ii. The man saw (pas tense of see) a boy which has binoculars.
ii. The man cut the boy by using the man's binoculars. (THIS IS WEIRD!)

6. Two arrangements:
i. They, are the hunting dogs.
ii. They are hunting for dogs.

7. Two arrangements:
i. Police help the dog to bite the victim. (HAHA!!)
ii. Police help the victim who was earlier bitten by a dog.

8. Two arrangements, and two very different meanings:
i. Woman, without her man, is incomplete.
ii. Woman: without her, man is incomplete.

9. The answer: garbage truck. "What has flies and four wheels?" resolves the ambiguity, but ruins the joke.

:: RE-loading a video ::

Hi, just re-loading a video that I had first put up to Net last year. Or sometime back. Hope you guys enjoy watching it.

By the way, it's Pon and Zi, and the original drawings are NOT mine.

And the song was sung by Celine Dion: "I Love You".

No royalties were paid.

Hope they won't get angry or anything..

:: Butterfingers - Me ::

Butterfingers "Me"

I have reasons why its sour
I have time to make it sharper
Don't you make me feel no longer
I would love to read the answer...

Where's the thing called beautiful?
I don't think it's wonderful
Just to fake it ain't so sweet
Ain't so numb and it's not because of me

If I take it all for granted
I would spread word through the pieces
Do you think it's all screwed up?
I don't think so because I'm free now

Where's the thing called beautiful?
I don't think it's wonderful
Just to fake it ain't so sweet
Ain't so numb and its not because of me

Why don't you ask me where I sound from? (7x)
Why don't you tell me
Its not because of me

:: compare ::

My teachers and lecturers used to tell me, "When you compare two or more stuff, you should compare it wisely.. compare an apple to another apple.. don't compare an apple with an orange"..

Ah, now I know what those people were saying..

So, those who didn't compare wisely is what eh?

Not wise ka?

So, here we go.. comparison of some countries.. the oil price in their country, against their PPP and whether they produce oil or not..

And to be 'nice' to people who compared-apples-with-oranges, in this table, even for those countries that still import oil even though they produce oil, I had just left them still with a tick..

:: oil.. minyak.. ::

Here's something that made me laugh. Credit to saudara Johnny Ong.. (http://johnny-ong.blogspot.com)

Anyway, I've found a website which posted a song about the petrol price. From what was written, it was said that the song was sung by a Malaysian band: Pretty Ugly, and the title was: Kelab Jiwa Muzik.

The lyric was nice and 'deep'. It cuts deep, very very deep. Look at the colors used in the song. Very meaningful. And the parts in the song about 'yuran', and 'yang penting tahu nyanyi Negaraku' were the ones that made me smile and nod in agreement..

Song / Lagu : Kelab Jiwa Muzik - Pretty Ugly

Lyrics / Lirik Kelab Jiwa Muzik :

Naik minyak dengar berita
Sana-sini dah huru-hara
Ramai hero di tepi jalan
Kena sembur lari lintang-pukang

c/o:

Apakah dikau buta?
Kita sedang sengsara
Aku bukan mengkritik
Mari sertai Kelab Jiwa Muzik

Jalan gelap hitam berkilat
Itu tanda nak kaya-raya raya
Hijau, merah nyalakan api
Biru biro gelombang mikro

c/o:

Apakah dikau buta?
Kita sedang sengsara
Aku bukan mengkritik
Mari sertai Kelab Jiwa Muzik
Apakah dikau buta?
Kita makin berpecah
Ini bukan politik
Mari sertai Kelab Jiwa Muzik

bridge :
Yuran percuma
Tiada janji manis
Tak perlu payung
Hujan satu meja
Yang penting tahu
Nyanyi satu lagu
Negaraku Malaysia

:: november rain ::

I found this song as I was browsing the songs collection that I have on my computer.

Oh God, I used to know how to play this song. But it was in a bad way.

I learned it as my bunker-buddy (I was staying in a hostel in high school) wanted to play this song for his girlfriend. And his girlfriend was my ex-girlfriend. It was dreadful (one month after we broke up).

But I'm OK with it now. We all moved on. And I got someone better now. Thanks God.

Anyway, here is the lyric. A 9-minute song.

November Rain

When I look into your eyes
I can see a love restrained
But darlin' when I hold you
Don't you know I feel the same

'Cause nothin' lasts forever
And we both know hearts can change
And it's hard to hold a candle
In the cold November rain

We've been through this much a long long time
Just tryin' to kill the pain

But lovers always come and lovers always go
An no one's really sure who's lettin' go today
Walking away

If we could take the time
to lay it on the line
I could rest my head
Just knowin' that you were mine
All mine
So if you want to love me
then darlin' don't refrain
Or I'll just end up walkin'
In the cold November rain

Do you need some time...on your own
Do you need some time...all alone
Everybody needs some time...
on their own
Don't you know you need some time...all alone

I know it's hard to keep an open heart
When even friends seem out to harm you
But if you could heal a broken heart
Wouldn't time be out to charm you

Sometimes I need some time...on my
own
Sometimes I need some time...all alone
Everybody needs some time...
on their own
Don't you know you need some time...all alone

And when your fears subside
And shadows still remain
I know that you can love me
When there's no one left to blame
So never mind the darkness
We still can find a way
'Cause nothin' lasts forever
Even cold November rain

Don't ya think that you need somebody
Don't ya think that you need someone
Everybody needs somebody
You're not the only one
You're not the only one

:: fuel hike, kenaikan minyak ::

People say, pictures speak louder than words.. please click on the pictures below to see how we can save (or how we are expected to save) in the event of an increase of oil price in Malaysia starting on 5th June 2008.

As someone (a minister, was it?) had said that we will get subsidized only for what we NEED and not what we WANT, the question then is:
WHAT IS DEFINED AS THE AMOUNT OF PETROL THAT WE REALLY REALLY NEED TO USE??

So, this calculations were done in order to find that out (or at least, suggest us) on what 'NEED' had been defined for us, Malaysians.

So, for these calculations, it was assumed that a rebate of RM625.00 would be paid to us (users of vehicles below 2000cc) in postal order yearly once we re-new our road tax.

Let us see how much that can help.. Feel free to forward it to let other Malaysians judge with their brain, calculators and wallets..

:: Proud to be Malaysian ::

em, baru terjumpa balik lirik nih.. penyanyi asal, kumpulan The Official.

em, just found this lyric. it was originally sung by the band The Official. The lyric of the song had been 'modified' a bit so as to make the grammar proper. I wonder why no new / other mainstream Malaysian artists had even tried to re-sing and re-make the song? I think it is so patriotic.. If the Indonesians can have bands like Cokelat to make a song titled "Bendera", why can't us?

We are proud to be Malaysians
We belong to you
We will fight for you

We are proud to be Malaysians
We belong to you
We will fight for you

We're standing proud on our land
We're always ready for you, we’ll never run
We’re happy living in here, we're never scared we never fear
we’ll die for you

You’re the number one
You’re a home for everyone
You’ve got so many things we always want

You’re number one, you bring our life to a shine
and you.. and you never let us down

We are proud to be Malaysians
We belong to you
We will fight for you

We are proud to be Malaysians
We belong to you
We will fight for you

Malaysia, you are so great
there so much fun you serve for me and my mates

Malaysia, united as one, where I was growing up free
where I was born

We are proud to be Malaysians
We belong to you
We will fight for you

:: dua insan ::

salah satu lagu berbahasa Melayu yang saya gemar amat sangat..

one of the song in Malay that I love so much..

M. Nasir - Dua Insan

Bila kau senyum, ku gembira
Bila kau sedih, ku menangis
Bagai taman rindukan kembang
Ku rindu wajahmu oh! sayang

Di mana saja kau berada
Ku kan tetap bersamamu
Walaupun jasadmu jauh
Namun hatimu dekat selalu

Walau duri halangan menimpa
Bila cinta ada ku tetap setia
Hanya dikau dan asmara
Membuat hidupku bagai
Dalam Syurga

Biar masa berganti masa
Biar pun musim berubah
Telah ku katakan padamu oh! sayang

Hanya kuasa Tuhan dapat memisahkan

Jika kau tanya pada rembulan
Mengapa cahaya berseri-seri
Tentu jawabnya kepadamu
Kerna dikau cinta padaku

Ku persembahkan kepadamu
Sekuntum bunga mawar merah
Kau terima sambil tersenyum
Kembang yang harum kau cium

Bila saja halangan menimpa
Kerna cinta ada ku tetap setia
Hanya dikau dan asmara
Membuat hidupku bagai
Dalam Syurga

Dua insan sedang bercinta
Dua insan berjanji setia
Telah ku katakan padamu oh! sayang

Hanya kuasa Tuhan dapat memisahkan

:: happy ::

gembira.. kerana Man Utd menang.. bukan kerana saya sokong Man Utd, tetapi kerana lebih rela dengar penyokong dan pemain Man Utd (terutamanya Giggs) gembira berbanding penyokong dan pemain Chelsea (seperti Drogba, Terry dan Ballack) gembira.. lagipun, sahabat, sepupu2 dan orang kesayangan saya sokong Man Utd!

happy.. because Man Utd won.. not because I'm a Man Utd fan, but because I'd rather see fans and players of Man Utd (especially Giggs) happy, rather than seeing fans and players of Chelsea (such as Drogba, Terry and Ballack) celebrating.. after all, my friends, cousins and my loved one support Man Utd!

terima kasih atas satu perlawanan yang menarik dan penuh debaran yang tidak disangka.. gembira benar bila Drogba dapat kad merah..

many thanks for a very interesting and a full-of-twist match.. really really really happy when Drogba got a red card..

:: permulaan baru ::

Di sini bermulanya kisah baru..
This is where a new story starts..

Dan sebagai penanda bermula kisah baru, biarlah bermula dengan suatu lirik kegemaran..
And to mark a new beginning, let us start with one of my favorite lyric..

"Anak kecil main api"

Anak kecil main api
Terbakar hatinya yang sepi
Airmata darah bercampur keringat
Bumi dipijak milik orang

Nenek moyang kaya raya
Tergadai seluruh harta benda
Akibat sengketa sesama kita
Cinta lenyap di arus zaman

Indahnya bumi kita ini
Warisan berkurun lamanya
Hasil mengalir ke tangan yang lain
Pribumi merintih sendiri

Masa depan sungguh kelam
Kan lenyap peristiwa semalam
Tertutup hati terkunci mati
Maruah peribadi dah hilang

Kini kita cuma tinggal kuasa
Yang akan menentukan bangsa
Bersatulah hati bersama berbakti
Pulih kembali harga diri

Kita sudah tiada masa
Majulah dengan Maha Perkasa
Janganlah terlalai teruskan usaha
Melayu kan gagah di Nusantara
